We collect information to deliver a personalized, secure, and engaging educational experience. This includes:
- Parent Account Information: To create an account, we collect the parent's email address and authentication credentials. We use Firebase Authentication to securely manage logins.
- Child Profiles: Parents can create profiles for their children containing only non-identifying data, such as a nickname or profile name, and their grade level (Pre-KG through Class 7).
- Device and Push Notification Data: We collect device identifiers and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens to dispatch notifications. This allows us to send learning reminders, parent progress updates, and critical security alerts.
- Learning Data & Interactions: We capture learning activities, quiz results, voice recordings (temporarily parsed for tutoring interactions), and progress data to adapt the educational experience.
- Technical & Session Logs: To identify bugs, we collect system performance metrics and error traces using secure logging. If support mode is activated by a parent, audit logs are generated to record helper session actions.
3. How We Use Information
We use the collected information strictly to provide, personalize, and improve our Services, including:
- Personalizing the Education Journey: Customizing quizzes, voice tutoring labs, and concept suggestions based on the child's profile grade and progress.
- Parent Communication: Sending parents regular learning progress reports, billing updates, and security alerts.
- Push Notification Management: Delivering updates in accordance with the parent's configured preferences. Parents can customize categories (reminders, progress, alerts) and configure **Quiet Hours** to block notifications during family time or sleep hours.
- Support Services: Allowing authorized customer support representatives to troubleshoot issues under strict audit logging and read-only constraints.
- Service Optimization: Debugging crashes, optimizing database efficiency (via our secure edge Neon PostgreSQL cluster), and enhancing app speed.
4. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
We are committed to protecting the privacy of children. Our Services comply fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
- We do not collect personal information from children under 13 without verified parental consent.
- Child profiles can only be set up and managed by a verified parent or legal guardian.
- We do not display targeted advertisements to children, nor do we build behavioral profiles for marketing purposes.
- All AI voice interactions are processed securely and transiently, and voice logs are not shared.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 13 without proper consent, please contact us immediately so we can delete the information.
6. Data Retention & Security
We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide the Services or as required for legal compliance.
- Security Measures: We use industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) for data transport and secure edge firewalls. Error reporting and API interfaces strictly prevent raw stack leaks or database exceptions from reaching the client (Zero-Leak Policy).
- Access Control: Administrative access is strictly limited. Any support session that accesses account details triggers permanent audit logging, ensuring no administrative actions go unmonitored.
7. Your Choices & Controls
As a parent, you have full control over your family's information:
- Preference Toggles: You can enable or disable push notifications, edit Quiet Hours, or select specific categories of notification alerts directly within the parent dashboard settings.
- Access & Updates: You can view, correct, or update parent profile details and child learning profiles at any time.
- Data Deletion: You can request the complete deletion of your account and all associated child data. Once requested, your profile records and learning logs will be permanently deleted from our primary PostgreSQL database.
8. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our technology, practices, or legal requirements. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of the policy.
If we make material changes to how we collect or use children's personal information, we will obtain prior parental consent in accordance with applicable laws.
